Part of a series of 6 different volumes produced by the Geographical Section of the General Staff (GSGS) War Office 1944. They were published by the Directorate of Military Survey in the GSGS (MISC) No 77 Series.
This volume would have been of particular value in the aftermath of the D Day and Operation Dragoon landings for the liberation of southern France.
The intention of GSGS was to provide an easy to use set of town plans to aid the movement of Allied forces through towns in the relevant area.
This volume comprises 125 separate town plans stapled together in a single volume. It also scontain associated vertical aerial photographs
There are indexes to: a) The France and Belgium 1:100000 series maps and b) Index to the France Belgium and Holland 1:250000 maps.
This volume measures 17cm by 21cm and is in excellent condition for its age (see photos)
